During or after an event, you may find that some lots are marked as Passed rather than Sold. This means that the seller made a decision to skip over the item during the event. Here are some examples of why a lot may be marked as Passed:
-
A lot wasn’t on-site at the time of the event, making the item unavailable for sale
-
The description of the item may have changed since the catalog was posted
-
The appropriate paperwork for an item requiring specific documentation was incomplete or unavailable at the time of sale
-
The seller chose not to sell the item for the current asking price
-
Some items need to have the approval of the consignor prior to being officially sold
Please note that when an item is marked as passed, any active bids will not be considered unless otherwise stated by a seller. When you have specific questions about the reasons a lot was passed, it’s best to contact the seller directly.
You can find a seller’s contact information on their landing page within our site or on an event listing. To find a seller and any of their events, use the Browse By search option on our site. Just make sure to select Companies as your search choice.
