This article describes policies relating to creating and changing the username associated with a bidder account on Proxibid.
This article contains the following sections:
Username Visibility
The Proxibid security system protects the identity of bidders online. When a bidder is logged into their account, they are able to see their full username. Other bidders, however, will only see the first and last characters of the username. For example, the username "Proxibid1" will appear to other bidders as "P******1".
If a bidder registers for an auction, their full username will be visible to the auction house.
A bidder's full username is also visible to Proxibid Representatives.
Username Requirements
Usernames must be unique. No two users can have the same username on Proxibid.
Usernames must be a minimum of 5 characters in length. The only special characters that can be used are the period (.), hyphen (-), and underscore (_). Other special characters will not be accepted.
Additionally, usernames cannot contain general curse words.
Updating a Username
Proxibid's Terms and Conditions allow bidders to change their username once per year. To change the username associated with a bidder account, please contact Proxibid directly.
For information on editing the email address associated with a Proxibid account, see Update an Account.
